Dr. Roger Chan graduated from UBC more than twelve years ago, and his focus in dentistry is to provide gentle dental care to restore function and beautiful smiles. He understands each individual has different dental needs and desires and he aims to provide treatments that satisfy each individual. He gets tremendous satisfaction in relieving pain for patients, turning a frown into a smile and receiving a "thank you" after treatment.
Education and Further Training
Dr. Chan's background includes practicing as an owner in Abbotsford for seven years, from 2004 to 2011. He is a firm believer in life-long learning and an active participant of continuing education programs. While he is a general dental practitioner, he has a strong interest in surgery, and he completed an implant continuing education program at the Misch International Implant Institute, earning the distinction of "Fellow" from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is also a provider of Bioclear Composite System. Additionally, he is specially trained to provide moderate oral sedation to people who wish to be relaxed and comfortable at the dentist.
Dr. Chan was born in Hong Kong and can communicate in Cantonese and Mandarin
Dr. Rensen is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, and the International Team for Implantology. She stays involved in many study clubs and continuing education courses including implant restoration, endodontics, Invisalign, prosthodontics, and periodontics.
In order to serve the community where she lives and works, Dr. Rensen stays involved with various volunteer events, offering her skills and time to benefit the lives of others.
When Dr. Rensen is not at the office, you can find her spending time with family and friends as well as skiing, cycling, or jogging along Vancouver’s beautiful seawall.
Dr. Fanny Chu was born in Taiwan and came to Canada at an early age. She grew up in Richmond, attending Cambie Jr. High, Richmond Sr. High and then the University of British Columbia (UBC). There she graduated with an Honours Degree in Biochemistry. Her introduction into the Health Care Field began as a receptionist and medical office assistant in a specialist medical clinic and ended up becoming the office manager. She became interested in the dental field and attended VCC receiving a Diploma in Dental Hygiene. After a stint as a dental hygienist at a specialist Periodontist office, she was ready for the next challenge. She was accepted into the UBC School of Dentistry where she received her DMD degree.
Dr. Chu has a passionate interest in cosmetic dentistry. To that end, she is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics where she was trained by their distinguished faculty in the delivery of non-surgical, minimally invasive treatments using injectable therapy. Dr. Chu is also a registered Invisalign provider and is happy to consult with patients who are interested in exploring orthodontic treatment utilizing "invisible braces".
After over 30 years of practicing, Dr. Day is ready for retirement. We are sad to see him go and wish him the best in a happy retirement! He will still be involved in the practice but only for a minimal number of hours.
Marylou joins us from the University of San Agustin in the Philippines where she achieved her Bachelor of Science. She has been with us for seven years and enjoys helping patients understand their treatment and helping them maximize their dental insurance. She is the person who will help you schedule your appointments and guide you through the treatment process.
During her quiet time, you will find her watching TV or mingling with friends.
Erica grew up in a small town in Southern Ontario called Corunna and first graduated from dental assisting school from Fanshawe College. She then went on to achieve her degree in dental hygiene from Fanshawe College in 2007. She has worked in our office for over seven years and contributes to our team by taking exceptional care of our patients’ oral health and wellness.
Her favorite part of her job includes meeting new people and building long-term relationships with our patients. She also finds satisfaction in helping patients achieve excellent oral health and wellness.
When Erica is away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
Mimi achieved her degree in dental hygiene and has been with us for eight years. She truly enjoys getting to know our patients and helping them achieve improved oral health. She has worked with us for eight years.
When Mimi is away from the office, she enjoys playing with her children and eating delicious food.
Sani was born in Iran and achieved her dental assisting degree from MTI Community College. She has worked with us for about five years and truly enjoys interacting with our patients every day. She truly enjoys helping people feel better about themselves and their smiles. Sani also loves working with kids.
When Sani is away from our office, she enjoys shopping and cooking.
Certified Dental Assistant
Soon was born and raised in South Korea and have been a Certified Dental Assistant in Canada since 2011. Prior to that, she was a Dental Hygienist back in South Korea for a number of years. These years of knowledge and experience in the dental field have helped her in providing excellent care to her patients. It gives her great satisfaction to make her patients feel comfortable in the dental chair. In her spare time, she likes to take long walks and watch movies.
Rebecca was born and raised in Burnaby, and has graduated from UBC with her degree in dental science. Rebecca has experience working in different communities and enjoys getting to know her patients. She has a great interest in research; especially focusing on the maintenance of implants, and has even lectured on this at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Vietnam during her UBC fellowship.
When Rebecca is not busy scaling away at teeth, she enjoys playing and watching soccer, and traveling!
